For one more week, you can visit the National Museum of Art in Riga to see the art work of the nominees for the Purvītis Prize, Latvia’s most prestigious art award.
The award was established in 2008 and named in honor of Vilhelms Purvītis (1872–1945), an internationally renowned Latvian artist. It aims to gather the finest achievements in Latvian visual arts and takes place every two years. This year there are eight nominees who are presenting their art in the Arsenals exhibition space of the National Museum of Art and it is an excellent opportunity to see the best in contemporary Latvian art.
This year the nominees are; Kaspars Teodors Brambergs, Miķelis Fišers, Gints Gabrāns, Kristaps Ģelzis and Ģirts Bišs, Ginters Krumholcs, Ģirts Muižnieks, Henrijs Preiss, Artūrs Riņķis.
